Forest-GIS » FlightRadar24.com - A great example of GIS/Radar data integration

Do you know the site www.flightradar24.com  ?? A tip from our colleague Igor Ribeiro

The site shows global air traffic captured via radar (where there is coverage) live or with a 5-minute delay delay on several available basemaps. Clicking on the aircraft icon provides a series of information about the flight. You can also see the route, view the route history, and navigate through it in the past, see the aircraft movement in real-time, and much more. Without a doubt, one of the best Radar/GIS integration jobs I've ever seen, it's worth checking out - you'll spend hours on it because it's so interesting! Explore the filter options, click on settings

and change the options, show labels with flight information, etc. Source: flightradar24.com When you click on the aircraft, try clicking on the CockPit View icon... be impressed with the integration between Google Earth's flight mode and the aircraft's real-time data!! It's amazing!

There's also an app that lets you follow all this on your smartphone and tablet, check it out,

for Android, here for iOS, and here for Windows Phone Related Incredible web maps show planes, ships, weather data, and satellite images in real-time.
